Dear Members,
LATEST COVID UPDATE
Following the Government announcement lifting COVID-19 restrictions, community Netball will be able to move to Step 4 of the netball Roadmap from Monday 19th July 2021.
“This means that netball can return in its standard form on court without any COVID-19 rule modifications, plus tournaments can now go ahead.
Any competitions that are currently being played using rule modifications, for instance leagues, should conclude with the rule modifications in place so that the integrity of the competition is protected. Any training activities or new competitions can be planned using the standard rules of netball.
There will also be a need to continue to complete careful risk assessments that include the management of COVID-19 within netball activity.
Netball organisations should continue to appoint a COVID-19 Officer to support the ongoing management of these off court safety protocols within their club, league, team or organisation.
We are waiting on some final written guidance pertaining to netball from the Government and as soon as we have this, we will be issuing the specific details of everything outlined in this article in our ‘Managing COVID-19 in netball’ guidance. The Netball Family can however now look forward to netball activity with fewer restrictions. Member clubs and leagues have been invited via email to join us on a series of forums next week where we will again provide further detail and answer any questions that arise. “
Update 31 October 2020, we are deeply disappointed to confirm that community netball will be suspended until the national lockdown that came into effect on Thursday 5 November is lifted.
All community netball is impacted including club activity, leagues, local pathway activity and all England Netball programmes including Back to Netball and Walking Netball.
This news means we are now temporarily at stage one of England Netball Roadmap.
HOWEVER the club is committed to keeping our members active and we have devised a full online programme which is open to everyone to participate in. Please get in touch with your coach for the latest schedule of activities.
COVID-19 COMPLIANCE
The health and safety of our club members, coaches and support volunteers is our number one priority. The Coronavirus (COVID 19) outbreak is a very fluid and rapidly changing situation. We will continue to follow advice from England Netball (EN), who themselves are responding to guidance from Public Health England, the World Health Organisation and both local and national government on this matter. In order to ensure we are following the advice and guidance from EN, we have created a designated role of COVID 19 officer – Lesley Chapman. This role will be responsible for communicating the guidance from EN to all of those involved in the club, in order that all netball activity undertaken by Hatfield Netball Club has the health and safety at the heart of any planning. Should you have any questions related to this subject please complete the enquiry form via the link below selecting COVID-19 as your enquiry:
